Daniel Roberts
I am a 21 year old web designer and developer in Montreal, Canada. I am a third year Computational Arts student at Concordia University. I am currently enrolled in the Cooperative Education program. As part of that program, potential employers recieve a tax credit.
For corporations 40% of my salary up to a maximum of $500 earned income per week is eligible for the tax credit. This gives a credit of $200 per week. For individuals it is 20% of my salary up to a maximum of $500 per week which gives a tax credit of $100 per trainee per week.
Part of the supervisor’s salary is also eligible for the tax credit. The government allows up to $30 of salary per hour for a maximum of 10 hours of supervision per week per co-op student. This means that up to $300 per week can be allotted for training of a student.
